Crates

Crates are the main delivery method for valuable items within The Machines Arena, available in three rarities: Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. The number and value of rewards scale with the crate's rarity.

Types of Crates and Rarities

There are two main types of crates: Limited and Unlimited. Limited crates, which include Rare and Epic varieties, are restricted in availability and require a specific key to open. Each crate has a matching key, and these keys are also limited in number. Unlimited crates, available in Uncommon rarity, can be obtained for a fixed time period without any limit on distribution during that time.

Acquiring Crates and Keys

Unlimited crates can be acquired through gameplay in any non-lobby PvP match or purchased in limited quantities from the game store. Limited crates, on the other hand, are only obtainable via gameplay in non-lobby PvP matches. Keys for opening limited crates can drop from non-lobby PvP matches and are also available for purchase in the token store in limited quantities.

Crate Contents

The number of rewards inside a crate varies with its type. Unlimited crates contain two rewards, limited Rare crates contain three rewards, and limited Epic crates contain four rewards. While crates and keys are not mintable, some of the crate contents, such as skins and familiars, are mintable immediately. Progression items, however, are never mintable. Each reward within a crate is independent of the others, which means an Epic crate could potentially contain multiple skins. The exact contents and the chances of obtaining each reward are always disclosed before a crate is opened.

Long Term Crates Plan

To address potential issues where players might have crates without matching keys or vice versa, a future update will introduce a trading system using TMA tokens. This will allow players to trade crates and keys, ensuring better accessibility and usability of these items. Further details about this feature will be released as development progresses.
